July Newsletter 2025

Welcome to the July issue of the newsletter featuring all aspects of bells and bellringing in Leicestershire.

Summer is upon us (I am writing this in the middle of the latest heatwave!), and in the ringing world this brings outings and striking competitions, and we have reports in both of these categories. We have also got reports of ringing resuming, both at Cosby, and with the University Society, and potentially resuming with a call for interested parties for an East Midlands branch of the Ladies Guild.

We have a couple of articles touching on history, with the VE Day commemorations including some original documents from 80 years ago; and also an article on the history of Church Langton bells.

Nominations are also now being taken for the Alan Jacques award – is there anyone you know who deserves recognition of the work and support they do at your tower?

Or maybe you would like to help the upcoming learners in the Guild, see the Helpers Wanted article.
