Regular Events

Just a reminder of the regular events that take place in the county during the year.

Guild Meetings

There are four Guild meetings over the year. As well as the AGM in October, there is the Half yearly business meeting held in April, and two quarterly Socials in January and July. The location of these is cycled around the districts. (For more details on the January Social, see elsewhere in this newsletter.)

District Meetings

Each district runs a monthly meeting or practice. You do not need to be a member of a particular district to attend their meeting, or even a member of the Guild. Typically the meetings are as follows:

Hinckley: 2nd Saturday of the month afternoon/evening
Leicester: Midweek during the 1st week of the month. Typically on the host tower’s practice night
Loughborough: Midweek typically during the 4th week of the month. Usually on the host tower’s practice night
Melton: 3rd Saturday of the month afternoon/evening

There are also regular targeted practices at St Mary de Castro in Leicester. These are open to anyone, and experienced ringers are particularly welcomed at Progressing Ringers so form a strong band around the novice ringers.

Progressing Ringers:

Rounds to Plain Bob: 2nd Saturday of the month 10am – 12noon
Plain Bob to Surprise: 4th Saturday of the month 10am – 12 noon

St Mary de castro 10 Bell practices

1st and 3rd Saturday of the month 7pm

Ashby 10 Bell Practices

10 bell practices also take place at Ashby de la Zouch on the 2nd Tuesday of the month 7.30pm.

Keep a look out at the Guild calendar, found on the webpages at https://leicesterdg.org.uk/news-events/calendar/ to confirm dates, and for any other events put on throughout the year.
