The next update that will be made to the website will be the addition of maps showing the locations of towers. This is still a work in progress, but will hopefully be rolled out in the next month or so. As well as each individual tower page having a map showing the location of that tower, we shall be having a dedicated maps page.

The maps page will show all the towers plotted on a map as seen in this image. It will also be linked to the filters available on the Towers home page, so you might for example just want to see the towers in the Hinckley District:

And then you are able to click on the bell icon to see short information about a particular tower, and click on the link to take you to that tower’s page:

We are using OpenStreetMap as the map source, and have used the same colour coding for different numbers of bells that is used on the maps on Dove to make it easy to transition between the two. Although it might seem as though we are duplicating what is already available on the Dove website, if you are looking to ring at towers in Leicestershire it means that once you have found a tower using our map you can then immediately fill in the contact form on the tower page to get in touch with that tower.

Options that we are looking to make available in the future is an outing planner, where you can select a number of towers that you want to visit on an outing and see only those towers plotted on a map.
