Melton District

Melton District meetings were at Bottesford, Ab Kettleby and Long Clawson this quarter, we had a good turn out for all meetings and rang a wide variety of methods and call changes at each meeting. It was the first time we’d rung at Bottesford for a while as they had restricted ringing whilst some tower cracks were inspected , that’s all resolved now and the bells are back in full swing.

The Melton District is hosting the next Guild Social on Saturday July the 20th with a cycling tour of Gaddesby, Ashby Folville and Twyford.  The cycling is an easy 3.5 miles from Gaddesby to Twyford but it’s optional ! For anyone who would prefer to drive they are more than welcome to take that option. We’re having tea in Twyford village hall after the ringing and then there’s a chance to have a go at ‘Carpet Bowling’ which is indoor bowling where the bowls are weighted so that they roll in a curved path.  For more details visit the Upcoming Events Post – note that we are after final numbers by 14th July please:
