April Newsletter 2024

Welcome to the latest issue of Ringing Round Leicestershire.

In this issue we have the whole spectrum of ringing experience from new starters to experienced veterans. We’re happy to congratulate Richard Carter on his 80 years of bellringing, as well as welcoming a new contributor, as Aoife, one of the Foundry Foxes Young Ringers, has provided text and images for the article about the Midlands Young Ringers’ Striking Contest which was held at Oaks in Charnwood.

We also have a couple of articles from Barrow Upon Soar, where a recent loss of ringers moving away has been the catalyst to recruit new ringers, who have brought with them energy and enthusiasm. New ringer Jez Bowman has even attended a belfry maintenance course, which you can read about in his article. Jez also features in the Firsts from Bellboard article!

And as Mark has been working hard on updating the system we use for the guild email addresses recently, I now have a new address for the newsletter – newsletter@leicesterdg.org.uk. If you have anything you would like to see appear in the newsletter, or have an idea for an article, please get in touch.
