The Editor has asked me to provide some quarter peal statistics again… so here they are…a lot briefer note than last year you will be pleased to hear!

Again there is a clear winner as the most prolific Leicestershire quarter peal ringer…it’s Alistair Donaldson.   Well done Alistair!  2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th places go to keen handbell ringers Robert Watson, Judith Godfrey and Alison Godfrey.  Alistair needs to watch out though as they plan to ring even more handbell quarter peals in 2024…  Incidentally their normal venue is way ahead of second placed Packington in terms of the number of quarters rung at that location (30 v 12).

According to Bellboard (as at 1.30pm on 1st January 2024) 196 quarter peals were rung in Leicestershire in 2023 out of 19,520 in total.  That’s only about 1%.  We need to work harder…
