July Newsletter

Welcome to the new look Guild Newsletter.

When I agreed to take over as editor, the first thing I thought of was “how can I include videos in the newsletter?”. In the last few years there has been an increase in the number of videos of bellringing popping up on social media – both in the Leicester Guild, and in the wider ringing community. As well as reading about what our fellow ringers have been getting up to, it is much more common to see after-quarter-peal pictures, and to see videos of visits to other towers.

The easiest way I could think of to include this media into our newsletter was to change the format – and here we are with this web version.

Hopefully, you will still see the traditional content celebrating ringing in our area – our versions of births, marriages and deaths: first quarter congratulations; completed refurbishment projects; history and news; and, particularly in this issue, ringing for special occasions as we look back on ringing for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.

I would like to encourage you all to share the link to our newsletter with other people in your tower – this link will take them directly to the homepage: https://ringingroundleicestershire.wordpress.com/

But don’t worry if you would still like to print off a copy to take up your tower, a print-friendly version can be found here: https://ringingroundleicestershire.wordpress.com/newsletter-july-2022/

I would like to thank Sue and Garry Mason for their 9 years of editing the newsletter, and I would personally like to thank them for their help and support to me as I step into the role as editor.
