Melton District

Melton District have had monthly meetings through the last quarter at Twyford in October, November AGM at Long Clawson and December at Stathern, all meetings were well attended and we’ve had a wide variety of ringing at them to suit all levels.

There are a  number of learners in the district and we’ve been pleased to welcome many of them to meetings, we’re also welcoming 6 new members joining the District this year.

We’ve had a welcome return of some of the quarter peal bands ringing at Twyford and Ashby Folville this quarter and members of the district rang an excellent quarter for Christmas at Tilton on the Hill on Friday 23rd Dec.

The Handbell ringers from Kirby Bellars gave a performance at Welby Church’s ‘Traditions of Christmas’ Open Day on 10 December. We rang a range of tunes, read a few stories about Kirby’s Handbell ringers of the early 1900’s, then finished off our performance with Christmas Carols and our rendition of Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’.
