Christmas Tree Festivals in Leicestershire

November and December see many churches having Christmas Tree Festivals, often with the local bellringers providing a tree.
Here are a few that were around this year:

The Bell Ringers Tree at Hathern, where they have been decorating a tree for 18 years!

Here is a photo of the Barrow upon Soar, Holy Trinity bell ringers tree at their recent Christmas tree festival. The ringers are trying to recruit and decided this festival would be an ideal opportunity to raise awareness. If someone starts to learn now, they might just be ready to ring for the forthcoming coronation in May 2023.

More recruitment opportunities at St Botolph’s Shepshed with a decorated demo bell.

The tree at the parish church Loughborough has a very modern feel to it.

And at Desford a tradtional collection of bells and angels. The theme for the Christmas Tree Festival this year was films, and we chose “Its a Wonderful Life”, particularly the quote “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets their wings”.
