From the Districts

Melton

The Melton District has held its meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month. July was Melton’s turn to host a Guild Social and which was a biking (optional!) tour of Gaddesby / Ashby / Twyford. There were only three who took up the biking option – Peter, Sarah and John – well done. This was followed by tea at Twyford village hall and a chance to try carpet bowling. We had a good turn out of around 30 people for the event – everyone left with spare cake and sandwiches but no medals for the carpet bowling which is harder than it looks ! Thanks to everyone who attended and those who organised and ran the event.

Unfortunately the September meeting at Great Dalby wasn’t so well attended with only 4 people turning up. This was a mixture of holidays, the LDG ringing course which saw a couple of our regulars in attendance and a massive thunderstorm – but it is a reminder for our members to support the District meetings.
